mini-roles is an award winning company run by committed early years practitioners with a wealth of experience. We understand how children learn and what teachers need and aim to make learning exciting.
At mini-roles we believe in providing play opportunities for children that are pertinent to the outdoors and exploit the new dimension that the outdoor classroom provides. Role play lends itself perfectly to this and our bins are planned with this in mind.
As early years teachers we have experienced the challenges of planning, resourcing or facilitating high quality, purposeful play outdoors that is sustainable and challenging whilst encouraging children's creativity and imagination. This is where the idea for mini-roles has developed from.
With this in mind we strive to provide resources that:
- Promote the invaluable skills role play develops in children.
- Are pertinent to the outdoor curriculum.
- Open up opportunities to support and extend the learning children are most interested in outdoors.
- Can be used independently by the children just as successfully as with a practitioner.
- Work hand in hand and enhance the other natural areas outdoors such as the digging area, sand, garden, sensory gardens and natural environment.
- Support practitioners who see the potential to exploit learning but often do not have the resources to hand to carry this out.
